Isaac and his Grandma and Cousin

Well, I had to travel last week for work. Grandma Nancy and Hailey came to take care Ikie. He loves them and had such a great time. He was such a busy boy. They got to stay for an entire week. We asked them to stay for a few more days because we did not have daycare this past Monday. Grandma Nancy has been so gracious and helpful and we feel so lucky to have her.
Isaac is now finally walking.....thanks to Grandma. She came up with the idea that he should try to walk without socks and that was the key. Now he is walking all over the place. He is also a little copy cat. His cousin would comb his hair and then he would comb her hair. If she would yell, he would yell. He also loves to pretend to talk on the phone. We bought him a Mickey Mouse cell phone and he puts it to his ear and tries to talk. He follows simple direction such as if you tell him to throw a ball or put his shapes in a container. My favorite thing that he now does is say "ut ooo." It is so cute. Everytime he falls or drops something he will utter "ut ooooo.""
Thanks again Grandma and Hailey for the wonderful week. We miss you!

Halloween

We had such a fun Halloween. We started our day taking pictures of Isaac and Kade with Mirabella Photography. The boys took such great pictures and I am so excited to see how they turned out. We then went home to give the boys a nap. We met up around 4 at a hotel to take the boys swimming. Kade did great and he really loves water. Isaac is a little apprehensive and gets so cold. He did eventually warm up to the water. Isaac and Kade then put the costumes on to go to the mall for some trick-or-treating. By this time, Devin was a bear so we had to go to Space Alliens to feed him. What a day! It was a little exhausting. I am so proud that Isaac kept his costume on the entire time!

Birthday picures

I years old

Well Isaac's first birthday has come and gone. What a bittersweet moment. I am so excited to see how he is learning and growing but at the same time, I want my baby back. As I get older, I do realize how time goes so fast. Isaac is almost walking. On his actual birthday (10/14/09) he took 5 steps independently. Chad, Cherie and Kade were even here to see this "big step :)" He has been walking behind his trucks/walkers for awhile but does not walk independently. He says a few words like "mom, dad, truck, and I swear he is also saying Weezie." He likes to copy us as well. For instance, Grandma Nancy was blowing on his food and he would try to blow on his food as well. He laughs, claps and is very interactive. He also loves to be a clown and get attention. When my parents were here, he was jumping around and laughing and trying to get us to laugh at him. It was so cute.
Grandma Nancy came Fargo in September to take care of Ike when he was sick. I had to go to Dallas for work. Grandma and Devin made sure to video Ike while I was gone. I was watching the video and Ike could hear his grandma's voice so he was looking all over the house for her. It was so cute!
Isaac had 4 birthday parties! My parents came from Chicago to stay with us the weekend before his birthday. He had cake and opened gifts from all my aunts/uncles, grandparents in Chicago. Then on his birthday, he had a party at daycare. He brought a Tonka Truck Cake to daycare. That evening, Chad/Cherie/Kade came over and we had cake and pizza. Last weekend, we celebrated in Beulah with Ike's aunts/uncles, cousins and grandma Suzie and Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Dale. Grandma Nancy made a wonderful lunch for all of us and we had cake. I rented out the pool at the AmericInn. It was so much fun. Ike did not like swimming much because it was so cold. Isaac did not like the cake either. I tried to get him covered in frosting but he was not having it. Luckily, his best friend (Kade) was willing to take over and dig into the cake!
I would like to thank our family and best friends (Chad/Cherie/Kade) for celebrating Ike's special day with us. It was great to spend time with all of you and all the gifts are perfect. Ike is a very lucky boy and was spoiled with clothes, toys, and books. We love you all!
