Isaac turns 3

ok- so it has been a long time since I have posted. Isaac turned 3 on 10/14/11 and we celebrated his party on 10/23 at Chuckee Cheese. After having Asher, that is the soonest I get throw a party together. It was so important to me that we celebrated his birthday. I just can't believe that he is 3 already.
He loved his party and was so excited to celebrate with his little friends. He was not at all scared of the singing, the attention, or the ticket booth. He loved it all. He loves to party- that trait comes from his parents :)
Here is his personality: He is very outgoing, not at all shy. He talks a lot and loves guns, trucks, and the lake. He talks about his boat all the time. I do get worried because he will visit with strangers and talk to them like they are his friends. He does well at puzzles and loves to ride his bike and his gator. He is not into books a ton - we try to get him intersted but he has a hard time sitting still to read. He still gets "annoyed" if we sing to his movies and will tell us that he "does not like that." He eats really well for only being 33 pounds. He loves fruits and vegetables. He also loves Micky Donalds (McDonalds :) He can count to 20 and is starting to recognize his colors. We think that he may be left handed because he does a lot of stuff with his left head. He was even shooting the gun that papa Dale bought him with his left hand. He does so much more that I can't even think of it all right now. He says the funniest, cute things too. It has truly been amazing. I love every second of my little 3 year old and cherish this time.

Welcome Home

On 10/5/11 at 12:35pm we welcomed our second son to this world. His name is Asher Michael and he was 8 pounds 10 oz and 20 inches long. It was a scheduled c-section so I anticipated an easy delivery. I did have a little scare. I did have some minor heart trouble and spent about 4 hours in the PACU. The cardiologist tells me it was more of a precaution and my heart rate was never at a dangerous level. It did scare me however. For those that have an increase heart rate...it sort a feels like you are going in cardiac arrest. Not to be dramatic! :) I remember experiencing the same thing during the delivery of Isaac but passed it off to be anxiety. The doctors tell me if I have another c-section..I will likely experience the same thing. I was pretty much out of it for the first 24 hours after delivery and poor Devin had to take care of both me and Asher! He did a great job though and was very attentive! Not to mention looked very cute in his scubs. He is going to kill me when he reads this...ahahah :)

Now on to the good news. Both Asher and I are doing wonderfully. He is such a chub and eats every 2 hours. He reminds me a lot of Isaac...just a lot bigger. He is such an easy going baby. He has a ton of hair but it is not as black as Isaac's.I was relieved when the doctors told me he was a boy because I was convinced that the ultra sound was wrong and he was going to some out a she. Mainly because the way that I carried Asher...very different from the way I carried Isaac. Devin told me that I was crazy when I wanted to come up with a girl name...just incase.

Isaac loves his baby brother and gives him kisses all the time. He is a little aggressive and we have to remind him to be gentle around the baby often. My parents were here to take care of Isaac while we were in the hospital. Poor kid did not get what was happening. He asked my parents "where are my mommy and daddy going to live?" His first reaction to Asher was "she has a penis like me!" Then Devin's mom came to take care of us on the second week. Isaac loves his grandparents and tells me that he misses all of them now that all the family has gone home. A special thanks to all of our family members for taking such good care of us!
We had to celebrate Isaac's birthday late...last Sunday. I will gets some pictures and Isaac updates soon.

Ikie's birthday

As Isaac's birthday is approaching on 10/14/11 and my due date is quickly approaching, I was reminiscing of Isaac's birth. Below is Devin's first posting after I delivered. It was such an amazing time and we were also very hypervidgilant which makes me laugh. I wonder if we will even get a post in after baby boy #2! :)

Happy Birthday

Eight pounds eight ounces. 21 inches long. That's my baby boy. He's got a full head of hair too! I told Amanda we are going to have to get some hair gel and style it into a mohawk for his first picture. I will have to get some pictures of him up on the blog tomorrow, I am pretty tired right now and am not sure I would even be able to figure it out now. I know, I know.... "Get used to it!" I will, but it may take some time. I have been getting my eight hours of sleep for 32 years in a row, so it will be an adjustment. Anyway.... Isaac is healthy and mom is too, considering she went through a c-section..... and she has a cold..... and she has pink eye. Luckily tonight the nursed took Isaac to the nursery so Amanda can finally get some rest. I will be keeping an eye on her to make sure everything is ok. It's funny, she is sleeping right now and this is probably the first time I have heard her sleep in four weeks without snoring. I am sure her body is releived to be done with the burdeon she has endured the last 41 weeks.

I can't wait for you all to see his pics.... he has the cutest head of hair.... he even has a receding hair line. It is hilarious. And he's got this determined look in his eyes at all times. Not sure if he is trying to figure out his surroundings or trying to figure out where his bottle is. It was neat, for about the first two hours he didn't fuss... just looked around. I fed him. He drank 20 mL of formula (Amanda isn't able to breast feed at this point due to the aformentioned illnesses). After 10 mL I sat him up to burp and patted his back one time and he let out a monster belch. It got mom's and the nurse's attention. Made me proud.

Well, I am clearly rambling now and am very tired. I will work on those pics tomorrow, Isaac and mommy permitting.

Wedding

Isaac went to his first wedding. My cousin (Natalie) got married in Chicago on 8/20/11. Isaac had a blast, wearing a tie, getting to dance with grandma/pa and everyone else. He was absolutely exhausted by the end of the night. Congrats to my cousin and Matt. He loves staying at my parents and told them that they could come back to Fargo with us if they wanted.

Song Change

Devin's mom recommended our blog song change. She said that this song reminds her of Devin and Isaac and I agree! Thanks Grandma Nancy!

I am back!

Hi- if you are still following. I am back! My poor blog! I am 31 weeks along and doing well. For those that do not know......IT'S A BOY! This pregnancy has been very different for me however. I spent the first 20 weeks feeling like I had the flu 24/7. Miserable. I was so sensitive to smells. For some reason, the smell in my house made me want to puke and die! I am not even exagerating. I am much better now. I feel way bigger this pregnancy then I did with Isaac.

On to the positive sides to this pregnancy. I don't wake Devin up in holy terror by my screaming from my leg cramps. I am not snoring like a grizzle bear! I have not taken as many belly pictures to forever remind me of how big I get. It is not that I am not as excited. I just simply don't have time with taking care of a 2 year old to sit and take pictures of my belly.

Isaac is very excited to have a little brother and he tells me that he is going to "snuggle him" all the time. He loves Chad and Cherie's baby (Brynn) and almost snuggles her too much. We have to watch him because he always wants to kiss her and help take care of her. We have to remind him that Brynn is a newborn and he has to be very careful.

Isaac is doing so well in every aspect. He is doing great with potty training. He has learned to ride his little bike with training wheels. He will say such funny things all the time. I have to remember to write them down more. He is paying attention to everything and everybody. He always copies Devin and will wear his hat and glasses the same way that his dad does. He loves to be a tough little boy and will often ask his Devin..."dad...you wrestle me." He loves the lake and wants to pretty much live out there. He enjoys his little friend, Kade too!

He does get annoyed with Devin. The other day, Devin was singing to Isaac's DVD and Isaac said "stop saying those words." Devin thought it was funny and kept singing so then Isaac said "stop annoying me!" It cracks me up.

The other day, I was driving Isaac and I to the park and had to drive out of the busy intersection. I came close to this guy on a bike and Isaac said "mom, don't crash that guy!"

We have been very busy at the camper and on the boat this summer. Isaac has a great time and will ask me all week..."Mom, maybe tomorrow we can go to the lake?" Or, he will say "pretty soon, I am going to the lake." He loves the boat. He will talk about things related to the boat that I don't even teach him. He will talk about the boat with a motor, or a hitch, or the tram.

We plan on giving Isaac a new room. We ordered new furniture and bedding for him and the baby will get Ikie's old room. I have so much work to do with organizing that! Devin gets the thrilling job of painting and getting furniture set up.

On to other news. Devin recently received a promotion at work. So, he has been putting in extra hours but feels very blessed to have received this promotion.

Well that is about all to report.

Time outs!

Isaac has been getting time out's...usually for hitting. He knows exactly what it is and why a person would get a time out. So he also tells Weezie and daddy to get their "nose in the corner." Funny thing...he will not tell me to get my nose in the corner.

Hello!

Hello blogging world. Are you still following me? Long time no blog. Want to hear everything that is going on in our lives because it is a lot....let me tell you. First of all: We are expecting baby #2 in October. Actually this baby has the same due date as Isaac. Isaac's due date was 10/7/08 and this baby is 10/8/11. So the kids will be exactly 3 years apart. We did go to fertility again, but is was not bad at all. I only had one round of clomid and baby!. So that is why I have had this hiatus from blogging. I have been so sick, tired and nauseated. I really do need to stop walin garoun dthe house saying how sick I am because now Ikie complain of being "so sick." Smells have really othered me this pregnancy. On to other news. I got braces on my teeth! UGH! I really hate those suckers. I could only eat soft food for 24 hours after they put the braces on my teeth. I freaked out and thought I was starving to death. Getting braces was harder for me to recover then child birth. It has come in handy with getting Ikie to brush his teeth. I tell him that if he does not brush good then he will get these on his teeth. Isaac is doing so well. He is talking and is so curious. He will ask me "doing mom?" all the time. He will ask you who is on the phone, what you are eating and just a ton of questions. He is even saying sentences. It is a lot of fun. He is really trying to be like his father. He will wear caps and put them on backwards if that is what his dad is doing. He will put the sunglasses on his cap...if dad does. He loves to play and is not afraid to push the big kids at playland if they get in his way. The other day, he told me that the "monsters were coming to get him and he was going to kick their butts." He tells me that he is "the boss" all the time and he does not "want to be a squirt." He thinks that everything is "gross." He told Devin that "Elmo was drowning and dead" while getting a bath. He can say his full name, and our names. He will tell you that his grammy lives in Beulah and his other grammy lives in Chicago. Well....That is all. Take care
