Sad Momma

I was informed today that Isaac will no longer be "Baby Isaac" at daycare. Gasp! Another little one is joining his daycare and it is a baby. What in the world! I knew this day would come but I did not know how "not ready" for it I would be. I want Isaac to be the baby. I don't want him to get big yet, I am not ready. It still feels like I just had him. In fact, I often tell people that I just had a baby. It also makes me feel better about my baby weight.

Isaac also had his first incident of vomit. Yucky. It was at Chad and Cherie's house. We walked in their kitchen to say hello to Kade. Kade said "Hi Isaac" and then all of a sudden...vomit everywhere. It was really all over me and all over Chad/Cherie's kitchen. Why is it that mom always gets hit? Chad ran up to say hello to us and thought I "spilled a soup or something." Then he smelled the glorious smell of puke! I am thankful that it was in the kitchen and not on their carpet. A few years ago, Chad/Cherie may have not appreciated such a mess. Now, that they are parents...it really didn't faze them that much. It was sad though because it scared Ikie too. He did not know what was going on. He is a trooper and seems pretty much over it now. I can handle puke, I can't handle respiratory problems. We spent the first year of his life battling pneumonia, and RSV. He has required nebulizer treatments several times. I pray we don't have to go through that too much longer. That stuff scares me too bad.

Evolution of my blog

I have been thinking of ways to make this blog:
1. More enjoyable for me to do
2: More ejoyable for my readers .....I added the "S" to readers because I think that there may be 2 or 3 of you out there? Or maybe not?
3 Just to have some actual thought into this thing instead of being such a lazy blogger.

So....here is the beginning of good things to come. I found a list of random questions that I thought would be fun to answer. Devin thinks I am being silly and now wants his name off this blog. Really....he did not have much to this blog before. So, no difference.

Random Questions?

1. Ever prank called anyone? All the time when I was in junior high school. However, my mom would usually pick up the phone and say my name. So whoever, I was pranking would know it was me. Thanks mom. We should have never had a house phone.
2. Do you have cable? yes, thank the lord above. I love television. Especially day time television which I never get to watch because I am supposed to work everyday!
3. Favorite television show? HMMMMM. tough question. Lets see, any show on MTV or E. I love 16 and Pregnant, Keeping up with the Kardashians, Everybody loves Raymond. I am also into HGTV. Is that showing my age? I would love to watch Ellen but again....got to work.
4. Fav orite type of candy bar? They are all yummy. Cherie said that she knew that I could be her best friend, the day she wanted a snickers bar and I whipped one out of my purse!
5. would you go bungee jumping or sky diving? I would love to say yes so I sounded adventerous but in reality.... but likely not
6. Favorite Restaraunt? Easy question....Do I have enough room? Hu Hot, Olive Garden, Applebees, Buffalo Wild Wings, anything Mexican, Ground Round for Bloody Mary's, Red Lobster. Ok, I love food and cocktails...
7. Do you have a garden? Ummmm no. That would just be a disaster.

See ya next post!

Why do I blog?

Lets face it....I am not much of a blogger. I tend to post pictures and once in while...I will get a few words in the blog. Nothing too interesting. I suspect that I do not have many blog followers. My reason for the blog is so our family can see recent pictures of Isaac. Our family lives a distance away and it is important to them. I will however set a goal to get a little more excitement in this blog.

I do enjoy checking other blogs and would encourage readers to do so as well. There are many interesting sites out there. Some sites are very light and funny. Other sites are sad......
I do enjoy checking blogs with happy endings such as kids making it of surgery or wonderful adoption stories.

16 months

So What is new with Ikie? That is a good question, because it seems like there is something new each day. He is developing and changing so much. It does make me sad though...he is no longer my baby. He is a toddler already. Gosh, this parent stuff is so tough. Devin remarked how Isaac won't want to cuddle us in a few years....so we better soak it up now. Isaac is already becoming an independent and determined little man.

Devin thinks that Ikie gets his self-determination from me. What can I say....I am a social worker. Devin will try and show him how to do things like dance or play with his toys. Isaac will not have it and gets mad at Devin for trying to show him things. Devin always tells me that I won't allow him to show me things either....like golfing. HA! Drives Devin nuts!

He loves run, yell, and really smash things. He will see his magnets on the fridge and will pretty much karate chop them off! He loves to yell "no, no" especially at Weezie. He will act really mad at her and yell at her one minute. The next minute, he will run up and want her to lick his face. Gross...but he likes it...seriously. I think that Weezie should win an award because she pretty much just allows Isaac to do whatever he wants to her.

Isaac loves the outdoors. He wants to play outside all the time. He does not mind if he falls in the snow or even if he gets cold. I have to fight him after daycare to get him in the house. That leads me to another personality trait of his...getting hurt. My daycare lady tells me that when he gets hurt, he just gets up and acts like it doesn't bother him. She said that sometimes, she will see if he is going to cry because it will look like he really hurt himself and he doesn't. That really cracks me up! I think he knows when to turn it on and off. He can cry pretty easily at home...especially if he does not get his way. He really gets mad when I take him in my 4-runner. I don't have a DVD player in that vehicle so his behavior is much better in the suburban. If he is in my 4-runner, he puts his hands up to where he thinks the DVD player should be located in the 4-runner and cries "baby, baby, baby." Can you say spoiled? I mean for mom and dad...not Ikie....he doesn't know better!

The other day, I went to pick him up from daycare and he was dancing with all the kids. He was really enjoying himself. All the other kids were telling me "look at baby Isaac!" "Baby Issac's mom, do you see baby Issac?" It was so cute...he was basically two-stepping and waving his hands. Then I asked if he was ready to go home and he looked at me and said "no, no!" Then he ran to the bathroom and tried to shut the door so I could not get him. I call him "Ikie" a lot and the daycare kids ask me "why I call him that when his name is Isaac?"

Devin is doing well in terms of work and graduate school. My job is going fine. Like we always say....another day, another dollar. Love to all.

Faces

Here are some of the silly faces of Isaac! Enjoy!

caught on camera

2nd hair cut

Here is Isaac at his second hair cut. He loved getting his first hair cut. He would flirt and eat up all the attention. It was so funny, and of course I did not bring the camera....grrrr. This hair cut was a little different. He was more unsure of the situation. Not sure what that means. But in the end...he did great and looked great too.

Busy Boy!

Crazy Momma

So, I am really not the best at taking pictures. I have a very talented friend that does an awesome job. As for me, the pictures usually turn out pretty goofy looking. The other night, I wanted to take some pictures of little Ikie in his crib sleeping. Not sure, what I was thinking because if I can't take a good picture in normal lighting, how the heck did I think I could do in the dark! I had to be really quick too because Ikie is such a light sleeper. Here is what I came up with

Fun Times

Issac is doing so many fun things now. I just smile and laugh all day long.....especially when I am on the road for work.

The other day, Devin was getting ready in our bathroom when he heard Isaac blowing bubbles. Here Ikie was on the floor licking out of Weezie's water dish. Devin said "Isaac, what are you doing." Ikie looked at Devin and smiled and said "No, No." Then went back to drinking Weezies water. I guess he is really paying attention to what WE are ALL doing.

He knows what he is not supposed to do. He actually gives us a little warning that he is up to some mischief. He will shake his head and say "no no" right before he does something naughty. He knows that he is not supposed to play with my lamp and he was telling us "no" as he was trying to remove the lamp off the table. We quickly jumped up to intervene.

He loves to be loud and scream too. Any time he hears a loud noise, he screams. Then we say "oh my gosh" and then he screams about 10 more times and laughs hysterically at himself.

We still have not beat the bottle habit. I put him in the car after daycare and the first thing that I hear is "bobble, bobble." I usually give in.....I am made of marshmallow when it comes to this kid. We get home and I give him a bottle. He now plays with his toys and the bottle is actually hanging from his teeth. A sure sign that he is a bit big for his bottle.

He loves Weezie and loves to torment her too. I must tell Weezie "good girl" alot because Ikie will copy that and then tease her with her treats...again laughing that he acutally has the control.

He is saying about 20 words now. Not consistentantly but is saying words. He even said the word "snow" today. I was laying in bed actually counting them all the other night. Devin asked me what I was doing and I told him that I wanted to count all the words so I don't miss what milestones he has reached.

Well more posts later. Love to all!
