I years old

Well Isaac's first birthday has come and gone. What a bittersweet moment. I am so excited to see how he is learning and growing but at the same time, I want my baby back. As I get older, I do realize how time goes so fast. Isaac is almost walking. On his actual birthday (10/14/09) he took 5 steps independently. Chad, Cherie and Kade were even here to see this "big step :)" He has been walking behind his trucks/walkers for awhile but does not walk independently. He says a few words like "mom, dad, truck, and I swear he is also saying Weezie." He likes to copy us as well. For instance, Grandma Nancy was blowing on his food and he would try to blow on his food as well. He laughs, claps and is very interactive. He also loves to be a clown and get attention. When my parents were here, he was jumping around and laughing and trying to get us to laugh at him. It was so cute.
Grandma Nancy came Fargo in September to take care of Ike when he was sick. I had to go to Dallas for work. Grandma and Devin made sure to video Ike while I was gone. I was watching the video and Ike could hear his grandma's voice so he was looking all over the house for her. It was so cute!
Isaac had 4 birthday parties! My parents came from Chicago to stay with us the weekend before his birthday. He had cake and opened gifts from all my aunts/uncles, grandparents in Chicago. Then on his birthday, he had a party at daycare. He brought a Tonka Truck Cake to daycare. That evening, Chad/Cherie/Kade came over and we had cake and pizza. Last weekend, we celebrated in Beulah with Ike's aunts/uncles, cousins and grandma Suzie and Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Dale. Grandma Nancy made a wonderful lunch for all of us and we had cake. I rented out the pool at the AmericInn. It was so much fun. Ike did not like swimming much because it was so cold. Isaac did not like the cake either. I tried to get him covered in frosting but he was not having it. Luckily, his best friend (Kade) was willing to take over and dig into the cake!
I would like to thank our family and best friends (Chad/Cherie/Kade) for celebrating Ike's special day with us. It was great to spend time with all of you and all the gifts are perfect. Ike is a very lucky boy and was spoiled with clothes, toys, and books. We love you all!
