Come to Jesus Meeting

tonight at the mall, Devin and our little man had a little meeting. Ikie was in Macy's throwing a tantrum....yup.....pretty much everyone was staring at us. Devin took him into the bathroom and just sat, and sat, and sat. I was in the "area" of the bathroom. I could hear other people saying "wow, somebody isn't happy." I bet Ikie cried and screamed for about 15 minutes. Devin said that he just waited him out. We have no clue what set Ikie off or what would make him freak the big one. Finally my boys came out of the bathroom and my son turned into the most glorious perfect angel. He let us shop. He ate so well. He got fries, pickles, hot dogs and a dilly bar and ate it all. He eats like his momma! SUCCESS!

Lake

We have been enjoying ourselves at the lake the past few weekends. Isaac loves playing with Kade. The boys love riding the golf cart. They even try to jump on it and pretend to drive. It is an electic cart and somehow little Ikie got the brake off and it started to roll down the hill with him in it. Devin and Chad were able to stop it before any damage was done...nobody got hurt..phew! The boys love to see each other in the mornings and will smile and scream and just a minute later they start to fight and hit and scream about toys and sharing. I can't wait to see their relationship grow. I can just see them getting older and wanting to run around the camp ground. The camp ground is going to have a pool and already has a playground. Kade calls the playground a "parking lot." :)

Oh, I also have to mention that Ikie thinks he is too big for his high chair. He now wants his booster chair! GULP! You can all about imagine my reaction to this. Devin tells me to "get a grip." Regardless, the high chair will remain in the kitchen...I am definately not realy to put it in the basement.

I am getting O-L-D!

Ugh! I am feeling so old lately...because I am getting old. UGH! The other weekend, Chad/Cherie, Devin and I went out on a date. We got a babysitter for the boys and decided to go out to dinner and out dancing. I realized that I am not 21 anymore. I still feel 21, perhaps act 21, but do NOT look 21. Cherie and I were dancing our little hearts out. I would stare at some of the girls (good thing that I did not get beat up) to see what they were wearing. My outfit did not so much look like theirs. I really have no idea when my age caught up to me. Time has gone so fast.
I try so hard to stay young. I watch MTV all the time. I try and stay up to date with the latest music . So ....in summary.....I refuse to grow old gracefully.

PS- I am very proud of Cherie for getting a babysitter. She is very cautious of Kade and has never left him with a sitter (besides aunts/uncles and grandma's) before! Kade and Isaac did great with the sitter and really enjoyed themselves. Actually rumor has it...they did better with the sitter then with their moms/dads. They went to bed at a good time and without a fight, they ate well, and they went for a walk outside. Our boys even got to dance to the wiggles CD.

Wrap-up

I know it has been awhile since I have been on this blog. So I will do my best to give you all a quick wrap up in my life.
Isaac is growing and talking so much. He is such a little ham. He is trying to say pretty much any word that you say. He loves kids and will run after them saying "kids, kids" with such a big smile. He still loves to be loud and scream.

We got to spend some time in Beulah for Keanon's graduation. That was a great time. Isaac loves playing with his little cousins. He even got to sleep with them and would wake up with such a big smile. We are all very proud of Keanon for his accomplishments and can't wait to see him excel in college and sports. I even got to go out and have a good time in Beulah. Thanks Grandma Nancy for taking such good care of Ikie while I got to go out for some fun. Some of those stories will remain a little private. I hear I was trying to "party Fargo style in Beulah" or something like that. :)

We also have been spending time at our camper at the lake. Ikie really enjoys that. He will smile and say "lake, Kade, camping." Actually it sounds more like "ake, ade, amping." Kade and Isaac really enjoy playing together and act all excited to play and see each other. Then the next minute they are hand fighting and hitting each other over a toy. We have to make sure that they both get the same drink, glass, food, plate so they don't want what the other one has.

Isaac is actually turning into a momma's boy. Devin tells me "that is what you wanted right." Well not exactly. I wanted Isaac to want me but gosh....I don't want him to be so upset when I have to leave him. Mornings are getting a little tough. I get him ready in the mornings. Then I need to hand him over to Devin so he can bring him to daycare. Isaac doesn't want to go to Devin. He wants to stay with me and cries for me. I feel like I abandon him and leave for work. So tough. Devin thinks that it is a "control thing and Isaac is fine as soon as I shut the door." Either way, it still hurts this momma.

Isaac is also starting to have tantrums that will make life miserable for anyone around him for about 15 minutes. We have them about 5 times a day. The other day, he was so mad that I made him wear a life jacket on the boat. He cried, carried on, hit me, threw his body around, his arms became so limp and squirmy that I could barely hold on to him. I tried to redirect him and have him sit on his dad's lap and carry on. He did not want to do it and wanted to make sure that I was the lucky recipient of this tantrum as usual. Lucky me. The hard part is when these tantrums occur out in public. The only thing that works for these tantrums are to put him in his crib for a time out. Well obviously at the lake or in stores, we don't have a time out crib. Also, during these tantrum fits we have horrible snot issues. Isaac doesn't like to use a tissue so he wipes his snot nose on my shoulder/shirt. By this time, I am so beat down from him throwing his body around that me wearing a snot shirt is the least of my worries.

I also am so behind in taking pictures, my goal is to get some again as soon as I can. You will all be amazed at how big he is getting
